Language Learning App (Part 2)

How did you know I used <p>

The Smerge sett is so big I can't see all of it at once now.

"en-US" and "en-GB" are not supported. We can only have one English. I think American English as most of the world uses it.

I've improved the UI and deleted the GB flag. I think we should make this stage where the user selects languages first. Then, we can add a proceed button and in this stage, the user starts to learn given phrases that we can randomly generate or randomly pick from a list. We can use the Text to Speech library to teach the user how to say the phrase in a language.

@warped_wart_wars Are you the one that made the "saved en-us-flag from the Abyss of Death" edit? If so, what's it for?

I'm fine with that. Actually -- maybe
usgbflag

Yes. I didn't want the US flag to not be in the sett.

Oh, I see. So what I was saying here

was that maybe we can make this part where the user selects languages to learn and what language they already use. Then after they press a button called "Proceed" they can start learning.

A way that they can learn is to

We can also use a sprite the shows a drawing of the position of lips when pronouncing each syllable.

What do you think about this?

WTH? I'm pretty sure you mean pronouncing.

Sorry. Fixed. So anything else? Or can we use this plan to continue our app?

Not that I can think of right now.

Sure.

So I've change the UI a bit. Check it out if you want. Can someone maybe create a "Proceed" button that will delete all the flags and clear the pen, as well as broadcast a message [scratchblocks]broadcast [start learning v] [/scratchblocks]. I can make the code. I just don't know how to make a nice button with the costume editor in Snap!

Are you OK with a costume made in Inkscape?

Of course. I don't mind. It'll surely be better than if I try to write "Proceed" with my mouse in the costume editor.

Ok. I'm working on it now.

Exactly.

Do you have any font in mind? If not, I'd most likely use Courier New.

No not at all. Although I would like to match fonts with the pen writing. So make sure I can use the font with JS. I am going to use the code from this forum Set Font, Bold and Italic for Pen Writing Block

I guess Inkscape has the JS "monospace" font. I'll use that. (sorry for the late reply; I couldn't connect to my network)

No problem. I'll import the font and smart pen write by @bh and @joecooldoo. Also, I tested the text to speech and it works in different languages as well as by using "fr" for "french" and "en" for "English". I posted it to Smerge if you want to see it for yourself.

That’s perfect.
