What is the "isCorpse" parameter?

I was messing around in dev mode, inspecting blocks and whatnot, and came across this interesting boolean value.

If anyone knows what this is and is willing to explain it, that would be nice.

SIde note:
I am definitely misunderstanding this, since I have no idea about Snap!'s inner workings, but it did catch my attention nonetheless.
