It suddenly worked!... sort of.
It showed me an error message like
"snap.berkeley.edu:443/api/v1
Could not fetch projects"
Edit: website is now fully down, got browser error "snap.berkeley.edu refused to respond."
Edit: WAIT WAIT WAIT THE EDITOR IS WORKING AGAIN IT SAYS IM LOGGED IN
After 10 mins - the editor has come up
So, it is working but VERY VERY slowly
Site is up again
I tried open a project but wasn't getting anywhere
Then I realised that I'd been logged out
Once I logged back in I was able to load a project in a reasonable amount of time
everything is working for me again 
This has been fixed; it was a problem with the cloud database. Thanks to @cycomachead for fixing it!
