Snap!nix Neo

What's with etc/secretfile?

that should be obvious :octopus:

Do you really want to waste ~20 bytes with "wakkaaaaaaa was here"?

do we care about 20 bytes?

oh no, not 20 bytes
Though I do think the file is unnecessary, the size should not be the reason why

  1. Why did you remove the man command? What was wrong with it? I know the latest version of Snap!nix Neo is based off my version because it contains the notes that i wrote. These notes mention that I added the man command, but there is none, which isn't particularly good if it doesn't exist.

  2. Why did you add a
(current [year v]) block to the copyleft information? What's so hard about changing one number once a year?

  3. Why is the project link a fullscreened project editor anyway? It would make more sense to link to the project page instead.

Why not? what if the project is dead for a year? no one would update it.

does it really matter? there's a button in snap that takes you from the editor to the community site anyway

Why not? what if the project is dead for a year? no one would update it.

If nobody is there to update the year, then obviously there's nobody to update anything else, so the date should not change.
A book written in 1995 doesn't have a date other than 1995, unless the book actually changed.

Did I just stop this project just by asking questions?
I think I did.

nah, you didn't
i've just been less active on snap!, idk about the others

Yeah, I've been busy with exams.

The reason I removed your man command is because it didn't read from man page files. Every man page in your version would be hardcoded, making it useless if someone installed a program. (also, less exists, and would make longer man pages possible, like how man works on most unixs)

i would think that any manual is better than none

Look how far my creation has gone… it all started with me wanting to collab to create a OS and baritone did the code and snap!nix was created

Me and baritone created snapnix I made the idea

You should check this out, I think this could be good for SnapNix visual mode

Sorry I accidentally clicked a box
