The reference manual indicates that when choosing Save As, a file option will appear so an alternative folder can be used. I am using Windows on both a lap top and a notebook. I have tried usung both Firefox and Chrome.
Are you looking for this?
When I click Computer, and then Save, I have a blank panel where I would expect to see the ability to select a folder to which I would save the project.
you have to click save, then it should show a dialog to choose where to save it outside the browser. web pages can't show a list of the folders in your computer for security reasons.
You don't get the option to select folders at that point.
It's to do with JavaScript not having direct access to your local file system
Once you click on Computer and then Save you might be offered to change the name of the saved file (and the therefore the file location)
IIRC This is not the default option of browsers so you may just have to go into your download folder and rename/move the file to another location
Thanks. That's what I had done. I'll type in the full location.
It would be good if there was an option to set a default location other than the downloads folder.
If you own your machine (i.e not a locked down school issued one) then you can change where downloads go.
e.g. Chrome
Again thanks. I just purchased a notebook specifically for use with Chrome/Snap.
And also thanks for such a prompt reply.
BTW my languages included LISP, APL, LOGO among others (going back to the late 1960's)
Cool! Your history is like mine. Welcome to Snap!!
BTW in Chrome,
click the 3 dots
select the user name
select Customize your Chrome
select Downloads
select "Ask where to save each file ..."
I do like to experiment!
I was a professor of education, math and computer science, not bad for a 79 year old.
Did you learn on an IBM 7094, as I did? :~)
