Making a mod block

I have been thinking of making a mod block where you download mods to the block for your game. I will add a script pic to this topic to show how it would look like. (PS: the script pic won’t actually work) You can download mods for your game so then people can add the mods to the game. Once the block starts running, it would first show a list of mods for that specific game, as it will only show mods with the specific tag that is set for the game.

So, a mockup?

Would these mods be user-created mods for games on Snap!? If so, that is a cool idea, and I would be willing to help!

Yeah it is user created mods for games

Here’s how it works: Once you have the block, activate it. See if anyone made a mod for your game! Once activated, it shows a list of mods with the tag for the game you are in. Tags are something like: #chickennugget2. The owner of the game makes the tag for the game. Mods include maybe custom skins, items, or really anything!

I could potentially help.

We’ll need all the help we can get

Aren’t remixes technically mods?

Difference:

Remix: A remix is a version or a fixed version of someone else’s project

Mod: A mod is a certain set of modifications for yours or someone else’s game

If you think of a mod like a modification to something, then yes.

untitled script pic

Just as simple as that! (mockup) Once activated, it opens a list with all the different tags for each mod. Just search the tag for the game you are in, in the search bar at the top of the list, and… BOOM! It shows the tag that you searched with all the mods with that specific tag for that specific game. In that search bar you can also search games to find out what your favorite game’s tag is. Functional for all games on :snap: unless the creator of a game hasn’t made their tag yet.

what’s your plan to do this?

No idea :slightly_smiling_face: but it can be possible with everyone’s help

You also need some kind of server to store and retrieve the mods. When applying mods, you’d need to know what scripts to modify, add, or remove, same thing with costumes and sounds. It’s especially more difficult when you want them to work if the original project is changed.

(()mod())

Thats modulus, please read the post before replying to the topic.

Do you want the mod to include blocks like a block library?

That… Works, (In VERY specific scenarios)

How?

If you wanted a mod that found the mod of 2 numbers, that works!

Besides that that’s pretty much the only scenario.

I am making a tool with a ffeauture like this, if you would like to help, just ask.

I thought the symbol for modulus was |x| !
