Weird. The post is literally blank, according to the API.
Wow. It really is empty.
I guess neweggz was able to achieve a blank message.
Or they were testing out their Forum API project?
Wait, what?
What you're doing is fine. If you do something obnoxious, e.g., write a program to post gibberish every minute, that could get you banned.
Nice job of programming, by the way!
People have been temporarily banned for huge spurts of spamming. And it happens all the time that some professional spammer tries advertising here and gets permanently banned. But nobody gets banned for a single mistake.
Why????? :~(
that wouldn't be possible without an API key:
I have to shadow someone in a career field, and he convinced me to try it. I now have a ~30 line .vimrc, and a keep accidentally pressing h/j/k/l to navigate Google Docs :~/. Other than that, I like it.
Here's the program:
There are some bugs, namely:
- I can only get the first 20 posts in a topic.
- search doesn't work.
Last I heard, they were allowing some bing trackers, since they were sponsored hy microsoft, and are using search results from bing. I don't know if it's still the case, they may have changed it due to the backlash, but I honestly stay away from duckduckgo because of that.
There are still other private search engines out there, here are the ones I use.
There's startpage, which gets it's search results from google, but it's also anonymous, so google doesn't know who is searching what.
Brave search is the new kid on the block, and it also does it's own indexing, so it's search results are not the same as other search engines (although there are options to mix in search results from another search engine).

Thanks.
Wait, what?
DuckDuckGo got in drama in 2023 because apparently they were sharing statistics with Microsoft, despite being the "privacy" search engine. Really goes to show how little you can trust nowadays
