The code is only supposed to delete from temp, not menu. This is happening with 2 computers I am using. Both are running windows 10 and both are using mozilla firefox.

Snap! is doing what you told it to do. You are setting temp to menu, and creating a linked list. When you delete from menu, temp will match up with menu and delete the same item. Read this.
