I have ruturned

I am back! if you missed me, reply if you want!!

why is this in "local communities?"

I thought it was a person thingy

hi

Fixed.

Why is it requests to the community?

I couldn't think of a better fit.

Maybe create one?

Honestly, I'm not sure we want to encourage this sort of message. In fact the OP was flagged, and I rejected the flag because so far, knock on wood, there haven't been a lot of these, and, honestly, sometimes when I've been missing someone here it's nice to know when they've come back. So, this is the sort of thing that I think we should neither rule out nor encourage, for now anyway.

i feel like we should just have one topic for "hi, i'm new here" or "hey, i'm back"

I meant a category to introduce yourself

...?

if you are new or returning, you should be able to create a topic to introduce yourself, and there should be a category appropriate for such

Maybe. But I'm envisioning a lot more users, once we get the social features of the s.b.e site going, so that could lead to a lot of traffic, too much to keep up with; and also, people will be able to introduce themselves on their profiles (as they already can in the forum).

s.b.e site?

Snap Berkeley Education?

Let's just think of some ideas for new categories.

$$\colorbox{#e7d95b}{\color{#e7d95b}|}$$ Introductions

$$\colorbox{#954f12}{\color{#954f12}|}$$ Personal Announcements

Honestly, I couldn't think of any better colors, or if they're going to be subcategories, like Snap! Feature Requests (with red on the left and blue on the right).

Obviously, I wouldn't expect the lead maintenance of the forum to add these anytime soon, so I'm not trying to get ahead of myself.

Edit:

Please, guys, can you guys stop fighting? Just because this community is small doesn't mean that you have the right to harass others just because blah blah blah. Act like civilians.

I'm pretty sure this user has only made a grand total of 1 post that has to do with coding
