I cannot figure out how to add the odd indexes of a list. Please help

I've been searching for an answer and someone asked a similar question but the answer didn't make sense.

(keep items <<((index) mod (2)) = [1]> input names: ((value)) ((index)) $delInput $addInput :: ring> from (list)

Are we doing the OP's homework? For some reason this is the second thread that sounds like homework to me this morning.

Unfortunately, yes this is for an assignment. However, that isn't the only reason I code and I thank you both for the assistance. I do not understand why that works though.

I understand now never mind. I wouldn't have been able to figure that out on my own though.
