How do you get italics in custom dropdown menus?

This is going to seem like a stupid question, but how do you get text to be italic upon choosing it from a dropdown menu? Nothing I've tried worked.

If you don't select read only when making the dropdown, then the options you select from the dropdown will be italic, while the text you type normal.

It doesn't work for me. I tried it on the make every [] effect on snap () on https://snap.berkeley.edu/snap/snap.html#present:Username=sathvikrias&ProjectName=custom%20blocks.

Yes, primitive block menus can do it, but afaik custom block menus can't.
