How do i make a block that combines blocks

so, i want to make a reporter that will combine blocks for... various reasons i dont want to share yet (it's a suprise!), but i dont know how to.
i want it to do something like this:

First, ringify the blocks you want to combine and then place them in the join block.

ik this is kind of off topic but you can also do this if you want to join 2 stacked rings or 2 blocks into a ring together

sorry for bumping an old thread but i made this awhile ago. it still works well and makes doing these kinds of things much easier than trying to do it manually.
