It depends on their implementation. I know we had the Snap!-isn't-social-media discussion four years ago, but I would rather have a system that supports quotes and high character limits. I would like to encourage people to add a few more ideas or sentences to their comments (not the following):
Maybe instead of having comments on projects, you could implement a forum topic viewer. When publishing a project, the creator could choose to create a topic about it, and users could communicate from the project page itself.
