gradedown coing up empty with new version

Hi,

since the new version gradedown no longer delivers the promised outcome.

The problem is that the grade down block's definition includes

If the MAP is uncompiled, it works. And it works compiled in 8.0, so I can confirm that this was broken in the change to ITEM.

thanks for the bug report, and @bh thanks for the analysis. I've just fixed the underlying jit-compilation issue which also seems to fix this issue. Please let me know if I missed something!
