Goodbye

No! No no no no! Snap! is absolutely not a modified version of Scratch! Sure, BYOB was originally a mod of Scratch, but even though Snap! looks like old Scratch (which is by design), old Scratch was never browser based! Modern Scratch and modern Snap! share almost no source code, Scratch is based off of Google Blockly and Snap! is based off of Morphic.js

Not to mention that what you can do with Snap! and Scratch are vastly different, not just adding a few blocks

Listen, if Snap! doesn't interest you, then so be it. But Snap! is not a Scratch clone.

I'm not a bot. Just because I disagree doesn't make me a bot.

Okay, but you don't have to just fight because of it. I'm getting teamed on just because of a different opinion. This has happened on 3 separate websites. It makes me want to end it here permanently and literally.

Maybe it's something about you, then, not something about us?

It's true that everyone is getting defensive, but that's because you started out with an attack.

I'm sorry about your experience here, I have not seen anything like this happen in the years I have been on snap, and you have every right to not like the snap community based on this topic (I'm also disappointed at the community right now). I think the reason why you "get teamed on", is because it looks like you tend to just make an opinion, like "snap is scratch", and then not listen to anyone else who is showing you otherwise.

You probably won't get into this situation if you don't try to look at the similarities something has with another thing you're familiar with, and instead just don't say anything (seriously, the best thing you can do to not get into heated arguments, is to not say anything, and quietly leave a website).

Yes.

All I said was that snap was similar to scratch. I never "fought" anyone.

Can this topic be closed? It's very much unproductive :~/

Agreed. Also it probably should be deleted to avoid people talking about it.

This community (not everyone) has been horrible. The people (again, not all) hate me, the devs hate me, and after 3 websites I probably think everyone does. All I did was say that snap was similar to scratch, and people kept saying stuff about the small differences in a attempt to change my views. But since I wasn't compliant with what people wanted people started attacking. And then (for some reason) it's all my fault.

I don't think anyone hates you. We just think you're being unwilling to learn.

Is it okay if we close this, or do you have more to say? (Or ask?)

Please close it

After being teamed on, I still think everyone hates me.

No, it's just that someone showed me a wikipedia page of metaprogramming, and I don't trust wikipedia. Or anyone here. And I have more to say, just a few more things.

Nobody hates you

After being called a troll by a user and a dev, and called stubborn, I'd say so that everybody does.

I think they were talking about the big differences, not the small differences (small differences would be how snap runs differently from scratch, not the big language features, like being able to do math on an entire list).

slight UI differences is not a big difference.

I was not being ignorant. I think you don't know what it means. All I said was that snap is similar, which they are. The guy on this website alonzo is gobo from scratch. The editor looks like the older version of scratch. The blocks in the editor looks like older versions of scratch. Yet, you're ignorant (quite the irony) to not even look at my older posts about the similarities between them. Instead, you just came to do bullying. And I'm supposed to be like listen to whatever you say, right? No. That's not how it works. You came here to prove me wrong, but all you say is that I'm ignorant. One of the users put a link to wikipedia to show me metaprogramming, and I don't trust wikipedia, so I showed them what I thought they meant, but then people called me ignorant. That makes no sense.

Okay, this thread has become a classic flame war. I've deleted the last 57 posts, leaving the OP with the last word. This thread is closed.
