I was trying to launch up Snap! via the website, and it, instead of redirecting to the correct URI, redirected to a IP (138.197.63.88, possibly the IP for the DNS entry) and outputted this error (Firefox):
Ignoring the risk does work and I can get into Snap!, but this shouldn’t even happen. Even on the result Snap! page, the IP still appears instead of the correct URI. Maybe this is a hijacking issue? I hope not.
This doesn’t happen for me.
138.___ IPs seem to be from Europe or South America, but Snap! is owned by a US institution, and the US is in North America. Snap! also does not seem to use Cloudflare (this link will return a 404 because of that) or likely any worldwide CDN in general. So yeah, this is probably a hijack.
Suddenly Snap! works fine now, so maybe this was a one-off for my specfic Wi-Fi network. Still, weird.
