See, discussions such as this one... Man, I can't stand it.
Is it the discussion of nomenclature that bothers you, or is it the suggestion that we (also) need a kind of persistent local variable that's shared among every instance of a block? I really hate when I upset you, but I especially hate when you blame users for it. In this case, @ego-lay_atman-bay responded to a suggestion I made originally.
How about we use THIS CALLER?
yes, all these "discussions" are upsetting me beyond telling, and I'm not willing to tolerate any of them any more. Either somebody is going to update the documentation or allow others to do it, or I'm going to ban all the jerks complaining about new features here. I'm having so enough of this forum and its people. Man, I'm talking sooooo much to educators, I'm emailing them sooooo often, explaining to them sooooo much, and none of them even show up in this forum because its squatted by the likes of ....
See, it is me you're really angry at. I hate it when you displace that anger onto the users.
I am totally ready to allow others to do it! I'm meeting every couple of weeks with Michael and Victoria about the process. It's taking longer than expected because the existing software to translate out of Word into some web-accessible format is really bad, and requires a lot of hand-tweaking of its results. For example, it loses the index, which I think is a really important part of a reference document.
But what used to be an obstacle, namely my insistence that there should still be a beautifully printable (pdf) version, isn't any more. I've long since given up on that.
But I don't think you should treat reports of problems as attacks on you!
May I suggest you two hash this out either in person or through another form of communication?
edit: that's wild
Yes, I agree. We're doing that, so we'll stop doing this.
