We were able to used the new BeetleBlocks library in Snap 10 to create and 3D-print a cylinder using PLA (shown in black in the image):

For a moment I thought you were about to say you'd 3D printed the bird! :~)
The bird is a Peruvian design that we included for scale. But that's a good idea ... we could model it (but not in Snap! - at least not yet) and print it.
