That sort of thing actually used to be quite common in the bad old days when we programmed computers in assembly language. It was then referred to as “self-modifying code.” Kind of like walking over the wing of the airplane to repair an engine inflight.
I know why it’s not common anymore, passing inputs is superior. It is still a fun challenge though and very fun to experiment with :)
