I think there is a lot of value in abstracting away the complexity of "everything" to create learning environments that let kids safely explore certain ideas.

I'm not arguing that one shouldn't be allowed to do that. Just that that's not what "microworld" means. It especially doesn't mean an environment so narrowed that it imposes a specific curriculum.
