Can't you simply just make the drop-down static?
That makes it so reporters can't replace the input value.
i decided against adding a failsafe and added back none as an option, while adding a note in the help dialog. some of the posts in this topic actually helped me learn some obscure parts of snap (i only joined a few months ago btw.)
If it works, I guess it doesn't need a replacement. ("If it ain't broke, don't fix it.") However, just remember my suggestion in case something happens, it's a simple fix.
Also, I'm glad that some suggestions here helped you learn a few things, that's great!
