You can type a key's name in the category search (Chromebook)

  1. Go to the new topic editor
  2. Go to the category input then click any category
  3. Press any key on the top row that is not esc, show windows or lock (Example: fullscreen button)
  4. The search bar will have the key’s name (Fullscreen button is ZoomToggle)

That’s not a bug. When you click on the menu, aka focusing it, you can type to search categories. After you select a category, the box is still focused so it still allows you to search. Now, it may be useful to have it autofocus on the message body after selecting a category instead, but that’s something you’d have to ask discourse for.

You can type some keys that aren’t letters numbers nor symbols like the

key on the search categories thing

I can’t replicate that, and I honestly don’t see how it’s that big of an issue. But regardless, you should just report it directly to discourse and they can say for sure if it’s truly something that needs fixing (or if it’s even an issue).
