script pic and result pic do not work with ringed comments

I was messing with the “() of block ()” block and tried to take a result pic. I noticed the comment was missing, so i tried a script pic and the layering is wrong.

For the script pic, it should look like this:

ex4

but it ended up looking like this:

untitled script pic (3)

notice how the line is behind the block instead of in front.

For the result pic, it should look like this:

ex5

but it ended up looking like this:

untitled script pic (2)

the comment is gone entirely.

  1. when you put a block in a ring, its comment gets attached to the ring, or whichever block the ring is attached to. that’s why the “layering” is changed, it shouldn’t overlap and the line isn’t under the block.
  2. no, the result pic shouldn’t capture the comment, it’s not important to the result of a script unless you are actively editing it. if you need to explain the result of a script on the forums, just use text.

That is not correct. The comment is still attached to the block. In this example, the first comment is attached to the first block in the ringed script, etcetera.
untitled script pic (11)

Personally, I think it is more likely that comments are ignored to avoid the speech balloon overlapping and conflicting with the comments.

By the way @unaserme, the same thing occurs outside of rings:
How it “should” look:

How it actually looks:

ohh. whoops, sorry

That’s why I moved the script down a bit.

Also I do agree that comments usually shouldn’t be shown in result pics but for the example I used it makes it look wrong, you don’t see any comment attached but the block still says there is.

Actually, this brings to my attention a behaviour which I’m not sure is intentional. To my understanding, the “(comment) of block” and “set (comment) of block” are for the help texts:

However, this function seems to be overridden when the blocks involved have comments on them, and has a few interesting quirks:

You can’t see it very well, but the example below has a comment attached to the ring as well:

PS: The help text part of the feature is why I found this picture unremarkable:
