One problem I notice immediately on the title screen is that most of the sprites are draggable. TO disable this, simply go into each sprite; and, in the location you would set the name; disable the “draggable” item. Then the title screen sprites will be undraggable.
Otherwise, I see that the title screen is pretty high quality, I like the animations. You also might want to set the rain sprite to go to the back layer at startup, so its blended into the background and not on top of stuff like the tutorial screen.
Otherwise I think the actual gameplay is pretty fine, just maybe add mobile controls? And also maybe make some sprites for the character itself (if you want to stick to the square, that’s fine also.) Maybe make it customizable, like Geometry Dash!
Made something similar to this, let me post it on the advanced forums
thanks for the feedback! I fixed the draggable item bug and im glad you liked the animations and gameplay
I probably won’t add mobile controls because it would be kinda hard to do with the way that i programmed the movement and plus most of the people are gonna be playing on PC anyway.
as for the recommendation for the character, currently i don’t really have the time or energy to make a full character. and tbh even if i did i think the square fits the visual style very nicely, and i’ve already made a ton of graphics based on the square such as the tutorial or the achivement icons (yes there’s achivements if you havent gotten one yet) to where it doesnt really feel worth it to completely overhaul the character. there is a chance i may add a customization feature like changing the color of the character and stuff, but even that is unlikely.
huh? advanced topics are more like a “how does snap render the blocks” or “let me make a snap mod” or something.
No, advanced topics are for stuff like metaprogramming
really?! I seriously did not expect that.
then many of my projects should be there…
I never did lol
