Please excuse my poor english. Why is there no text tool in the paint editor, as it is very useful to create a text sprite !

We know, we just haven't done it yet. Eventually.
However, you can now write text using the write block from the Pen category. That may be enough for what you need.
You could even do:
Then edit the new costume with the regular costume editor 
Kind of a hack, but it does the job.
