Higher order functions sure are powerful! I’m not too good at using them, but practice makes perfect, right? Thanks for sharing that, I might create a copy of my code with everyone’s advice implemented just to see what it would look like.
…how did I not think of that
Will definitely be using that tip in the future. Thanks for checking out my code!
Thanks! I totally forgot about script pics haha. I did not know that you can import scripts like that, super cool feature!
P.S. To anyone who has read to the end of this thread, is it bad forum etiquette to reply to each reply?
You can use this [ quote ] (Delete the spaces between the Q and the E) function to highlight what people said, and answer all the things in one post. It’s probably better to do it that way rather than individual replies.
Much obliged! That is a much better solution! I’ll do that from now on, I suppose this might be my last individual reply then ![]()
True! (Hope you don’t mind I was trying out the function lol)
Edit: I think I might have done it wrong, does the quoting replace the need to reply?
No you used it right because what I said is highlighted in grey.
Unless I misunderstand what you mean.
- the play button is reversed
P.S. To anyone who has read to the end of this thread, is it bad forum etiquette to reply to each reply?
Everyone says that, but I’ve never understood why. Separate replies make it easier to follow a sub-thread. And they ensure that people get notified that you’re replying to them.
Quotation should trigger a notification also.
A single response is more readable. Post boundaries are very redundant and break the conversation context and flow.
I’ve noticed that the way @bh quotes posts means that the quote isn’t referencing a particular person - so they don’t get notified. I don’t know what @bh is doing, but I quote people by highlighting the text I want to quote and clicking “quote”.
Sadly, the forum doesn’t work right for me, in several ways. One is that I can’t terminate a post by typing command-enter; I have to mouse over to the Reply button and click it. Another is that the Quote feature doesn’t work for me; I can only copy-paste the text I want to reply to. I’m sure this is because of some browser extension that the forum doesn’t like. (Indeed, if I open an incognito window, which turns off extensions, it does work.)
It’s kind of a pain in the neck, and I suppose I should take the trouble to do a binary search of my extensions to see which is the problem. Sigh.
It’s a really innocent mistake, and pretty much everyone who codes has done it once. Thankfully it’s also pretty easy to fix.
ARGH! Sorry about that, what a simple mistake. Fixed now!
I took the easy way out and uploaded the costume in a separate image editor, but the three bananas sprite is now only one banana! Thanks again for the feedback.
(Also, I know I said I would stop with the individual replies - if I see the need to reply to multiple people all at once, rest assured I will use the quote feature!)
