The blocks now feel a little bit old and I think deserve a bit of a redesign, maybe just make them a little brighter (and if this happens make it toggle-able for people who like it now)
if you go to settings>looks there are some settings to change the appearence of the blocks and editor
Does 
> Flat Bright and > Zoom blocks = 1.5 do the trick?
There’s always Split! - Snap! but Scratch, the best snap mod!
