Invites or Join Links for Collections!

Collections allow you to create groups of projects, like you see on the home page of the community site. For a long time, you’ve been able to add editors to collections, users who can add and remove projects.

We recently added the ability for the collection creator (or owner) to create join links. By giving out a join link, you allow anyone who has the link to add themselves to a collection.

Collection editors can of course see a collection which is not shared nor published publicly. This means you can share a collection with a group of friends or students.

When you click the Copy Join URL button, you’ll get a link like this: https://snap.berkeley.edu/collection/xxxx/join . Turn off this link, or regenerate a new token simply click ‘Remove Join URL’.

Cool!

What does the Mark as free-for-all button do?

Oh, oops! I should have hidden this, perhaps. As admins, when we make a topic of the month, we mark it as a ‘free for all’ collection so anyone can contribute projects.
