I don’t know if this is really advanced but I couldn’t find a Help with Snap: Snap programming category (which seems odd). Anyway, what’s the easiest way to get the value of a specific sprite as a value that I can store in a variable, pass to a block, etc. I know it can be done in various round about ways but it feels like there must be a direct way that I’m missing.
If you mean getting the sprite and putting it as a parameter, then object [myself V] is probably what you need. It returns the object in the drop-down.
Ah, that’s it. Thanks.
It’s called “Help with Snap! > Snap! editor.” You’re right, we should probably change that to “Snap! programming”; users can’t be expected to know that the whole of Snap! is called the editor, not just the Block Editor, which would be a more obvious meaning.
Well, because I’m a different kind of nerd I assumed Help with Snap!: Snap Editor would have been for questions specifically about how to use the editor (e.g. how to use click-to-type or the context menus or something). I.e. questions about Emacs not about Lisp. I was looking for ‘Help with Snap!: Programming’ or ‘Help with Snap!: Language and Libraries’.
But now I know where to post so I guess I’m a member of the tribe.
We should still change it. I’ll get around to it unless somebody talks me out of it…
