I tried to check and uncheck the "Show buttons" option (the one that shows up when I enable the "Single palette" option in the settings menu). I thought this could hide the category buttons? Anyway, nothing seems to happen.
The "Show buttons" option hides the buttons in the palette (like Make a variable and Make a block).
