in the 1st slot is the bit matrix.

in the 2nd slot is an image of the qr code.

in the 3rd slot is the encoded data.

in the 4th slot is the version.

Wow! Now just make code to decode the bit matrix of it.. Probably not decoding from image as I can imagine that would be hellish in Snap!.

Actually lol. I’ve tried to make a decode from video off of snap! And i haven’t been able to get that to work at all. I can’t find a purpose for a decoder in snap! If u can think of one I’ll make one.

You may try the “Pixels” library to preprocess the image before decode.

No processing the exact qr the qr returns would be quite simple. Calculate the padding and remove, then use the finder to calculate the pixel size. Then run across the image creating an array. Then decode (which isn’t so simple but can obviously be done) I was just wondering if anyon3 would ever use something like that. If people would i would be happy to implement it.

Very cool !

Why you don’t use a color picker for bg and module ?

Color picker for some reason doesn’t have alpha. Tho now that I think about it, @jens can this please be added.

Been thinking about this. Because there is no scanning anyways when decoding you wouldn’t need the error correction. So decoding would be extremely simple.

One purpose is to allow people to create qr codes of custom levels in a game and save them as qr codes that can be scanned back into the game. There’s quite a lot you can do with a qr code encoder and decoder, regardless of whether you can see a use or not, there’s a reason they’re everywhere.

So cool. 1 thing though, who said that we had to use traditional QR codes, for all we want, we can use multiple easily identifiable by snap colors to encode more information. We also might not need the extra half of bits where it just makes it possible to read an imperfect QR code (e.g. it’s ripped). You could also use another easily identifiable color specifically in place of the 4 squares used to give the tilt and size of the we code so it can correct it. The point is that we don’t need the QR code to work like a normal one.

the goal of this tho was to make scannable qr codes possibly for links so they can be scanned by phone.
