So I searched up “ai” on snap because I wanted to see ai projects, then I saw THIS, by this user named ‘tntheadhoncho’. The project was an exact copy of my project, Trail Mix. Tnt’s project was published 2 days after mine. I don’t know what’s the big idea of kids copying projects and not marking them as remixes as if the button never even existed. Sorry if this is offforum but i’m just concerned
Yes, this is a common pet peeve of mine. I’ve made a large amount of projects. And i usually rename the projects the more they develop. Causing some people to copy older versions and get away with publishing them without labeling it as a remix.
That happend to me on This project i reported it multiple times but nothing happend also if you go down all the way in the notes i added somting before they made that copy.
Does this really matter? I mean, yeah, it’s wrong to use other people’s ideas and/or code without credit, but it doesn’t hurt you and it doesn’t help them, not really. I feel like we have more important things to worry about, but I’m willing to be convinced if I’m really wrong.
On that project, it says this, but @kingnico1133 put that there himself when he published his game. I think most projects that are likely the exact same as another one shouldn’t even be a remix, since a remix is meant to have changes. They can change the name, but changing the name doesn’t make it a remix, it just makes it seem less like a copy.
I believe the least we can do is cite the author if we use their code
Yes, of course. I imagine that even people who break this rule know that they’re breaking a rule of civilized behavior, never mind the specific rules of our community.
I’m arguing that people who spend their time here forging other people’s projects instead of making their own are hurting themselves more than they’re hurting the actual authors. We should just pity their lack of motivation and/or imagination.

There’s a very fine line between using a bit of code from someone else’s project and just straight up plagiarism. In these instances, nothing is changed aside from the title, and no credit is given.
@kingnico1133 I don’t think that’s how Copyright on Snap works.
